Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is satisfied has praised goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, Zaidu Sanusi, and Kevin Akpoguma for their performance against Algeria and Tunisia.
Okoye was in goal for the two matches and made some couples of good saves, while Sanusi and Akpoguma also showed promises despite playing with the team for the first time.
Speaking to Super Eagles YouTube channel, Rohr singled out the trio for praises and also confirmed that the players give him options ahead of the coming Afcon qualifiers with Sierra Leone.
“We saw the confirmation for some of our players like in the goalkeeper (Okoye) position, like in the left-back (Sanusi) position, like also the new defender (Akpoguma) who is coming in choosing Nigeria instead of Germany, so he can play in the right side, he can play in the middle,” Rohr said.
“I think the team is in a good shape, we worked well, we have more options now for our list.” He concluded.
Super Eagles will take on Sierra Leone next month, with the first leg scheduled to hold in Nigeria, while the return leg will be in Freetown four days later.
