Lionel Messi reportedly ‘feels very good in Paris’ despite reports in Spain saying the Argentine was unhappy at PSG.

The 34-year-old left Barcelona for the French capital last summer but has found life hard since swapping La Liga for Ligue 1.

In his 14 league games this season, he has netted just twice. In contrast, Messi has scored at least 25 goals in each of the last 12 seasons before he moved to France.

Earlier this month, reports from Spain said Messi’s difficulty to settle in Paris was not just limited to the pitch.

El Confidencial reported that his family are unable to fluently speak French and that he misses the warmer climate of Barcelona.

However, a new report has emerged denying that Messi is unhappy in France.

‘Leo Messi feels very good in Paris contrary to what has been said in Spain,’ RMC Sport reported via Hadrien Grenier.

‘He does not regret at all having come to PSG according to his relatives.

‘He and his family have acclimated to their new surroundings.’

Messi was the subject of some sharp criticism this week from former PSG winger Jerome Rothen who claimed the Argentine would ‘not leave a mark’ at the club.

He is the boy of another club, Barcelona, which is his life, and so is the city’, Rothen told Marca.

‘Messi goes to Barcelona when there are days off. He is passing through, nobody expected him at PSG, not even himself to be here in Paris.

‘He has signed two years at 34, and is undoubtedly the best player in history, but he does not have the legs of before, he cannot repeat the efforts like he has previously done.

‘Besides, above all, he doesn’t have the same team or the same teammates of whom he spent some many years with in Catalonia. You have to feel good at a club, and now at PSG, there are many problems in terms adapting to his current teammates.
